I assume these are mostly Republican appointees too, yes? Unless I'm wrong and Conn. elects their supreme court judges.

The CT State Supreme Court is interesting, actually. They are appointed but for some reason there are 8 justices on rotation. Five of them were appointed by Republican governors (Rell and Rowland), one was appointed by a Democract and two were appointed by a governor who belonged to "The Connecticut Party," a small independent party. But I guess it's important to remember that even "Republican" means something entirely different in CT. After all, Christopher Shays is a "Republican."
